where to donate stuffed animals?

I have many very gently used (and brand new) stuffed animals that my son has no interest in. Any suggestions of where I can donate these?

Four suggestions:

1. I believe some animal shelters take them
2. Our school has a carnival every year and accepts donations of used stuffed animals and then gives them away as prizes in March -- I'm in Fairfax and could probably find a place to store them until then if you feel like dropping them off (email me at cassimw@yahoo).
3. Freecycle (a yahoo group where people give things away for free!)
4. Craigslist - free section

For the new ones, you might consider Toys for Tots.
