Delicious Restaurant in Bethesda

Anonymous
We're taking our 4yo to Imagination Stage on Saturday to see Busy Town. Can you recommend a delicious kid-friendly restaurant nearby for a late lunch (play ends at 1:15)? We live in NoVA, so don't know the area well. Thanks!

Mia's pizza. Love it. Family friendly. Walk over from theater. Awesome.

Austin Grill
Cafe Deluxe
Ri-Ra (sp?)
Rio Grande
Rock Bottom Brew Pub

Actually, so many of the restaurants are kid-friendly but these are the ones I've tried and the kids loved them all.

23:09 poster here... I just realized that of all the restaurants I listed, only Rock Bottom is a short walk from the theater. And I second Mia's Pizza, it's great!

Foong Lin is also really close to the theatre (close walk). And while I wouldn't call it "kid friendly"... I'd certainly take my well-behaved kids there for lunch on a weekend. Good Chinese food.

Rio Grande is a short drive, and is more typically "kid friendly". Also has good food.

I don't think Cafe Deluxe is a place I would take my kids unless they were drugged. Its a bit more upscale

Completely disagree. Cafe Deluxe is perfect for kids and often flooded with them early in the evening. Main drawback is that the food is not so great. One meal will provide your monthly ration of salt.

Louisiana Kitchen!!! It's the new Louisiana Express (same cook and servers). It's now at the corner of Cordell and Norfolk right around the corner from Imagination stage. You can get your 4 year old red beans and rice, beignets, breakfast and/or lunch fare. I've been taking my kids to see Carlos since they were babies.

Near the theater, Mia's Pizza on Cordell, Rock Bottom on Norfolk, Tia Queta on Del Ray for Mexican, Hard Times on Del Ray, Guardado's on Del Ray for Spanish.

Hard Times Cafe, right up the street from the theater. We go there all teh time with our kids and it is perfect for them and fun.

Ollazo is small but my son loves it. Loves the fireplace tv thingy. Also Mia's. Best place for kids!

Glad to know they have re-opened! We drove over one night for some carry out to find out they were gone.

I second Cafe Deluxe. They have great soups and other cool weather food and it is fine for kids (they have a kids menu and even put paper on the tables and give you a pack of crayons to color all over with). There is a public parking garage (free on Sat. I believe) adjacent to the bldg.

My kid loves Rio Grande.

Rock Bottom is the nearby choice and has a very full menu, but will be crowded and loud in the large tv-filled bar area on Saturday afternoon with the college football watching crowd, just something to keep in mind.

The Original Pancake House.

It all depends on what kind of food you're in the mood for. Our favorites are Mia's Pizza, Uncle Julio's Rio Grande, Cafe Deluxe, and while it doesn't have much atmosphere, we also love Mamma Lucia's. Mon Ami Gabi (French Bistro) is also great and it's loud and busy enough that it would be kid-friendly.

Guardado's (Spanish/Latin American) is across the street from the back side of Imagination Stage and I think it's a neighborhood gem (and pretty kid friendly).

Rock Bottom and Mia's are other good options in easy walking distance, although our 5 yr old likes the "make your own pizza" at Rock Bottom better than the more upscale pizza at Mia's.
