If someone graduates this May from college and has been given an offer letter which they accepted as a beginning auditor at a big accounting firm, when in the fall (summer?) would they start working?
DH and I are trying to plan an international trip this summer and will take all the children (even the adult one), but want to leave him enough time for him to readjust from the time change and such. DS said he thinks his first day is in the fall. Does this sound right to anyone? |
I did it years ago and started in mid July. The start date should be in the letter. Or he should call and ask. It shouldn't be a mystery.

The letter will say. If it doesn't he should ask. Better yet, call and be ready to say what date you'd like.

When I started with my firm (a decade ago) I was given the option of a June or September start date. I can't remember how far into September that start date was, but the June one was the 21st. It might depend in the group you are joining as tax busy season is mid-July through mid September.
I started with PwC many years ago in NY. My start date was in September or October. I can't remember exactly, but if it was September, it was closer to the end. Congrats!
My start was end of June. Normally it was a month or two later, but there was a special event and they wanted to include the new hires. This was several years ago. Not sure of current schedule. They cluster new-hires together to go through training together.
