AAP Level IV continues into 7th and 8th grade. What happens when you have options regarding base school vs center school. How important is it to stay in the same pipeline as opposed to going to the center. Thoughts on this type of option? |
Well, there is talk and it almost passed that they will change all the middle school into AAP centers so who knows what the future holds. |
It depends on what your child plans to do in high school.
Middle schools in IB pyramids have the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and the goal is to extend MYP to all 8 IB high schools and their feeder middle schools. If your child is in advanced mathematics, decisions about high school planning get shifted to 7th grade. AAP staff presented both AP and IB tracks in an AAPAC presentation earlier this year; you may want to take a look at the slides: http://www.fcps.edu/is/aap/pdfs/aapac/2012-2013/APIBHighSchoolPresentation.pdf |
