South Seas Island Resort, Captiva

Yea? Nay? For late December? Are there are other hotels/resorts you like in the Sanibel/Captiva area? Thanks!

LOVE IT. Been going since I was 13. My folks own a few weeks in one of the time share condos in South Seas. There's lots to do. It's changed a lot in the past few years since the big hurricane. There are new restaurants and it's a little pricier.

We always cook in for breakfast and lunch and go out a few nights (both on the property and off- i.e. the Mucky Duck).

There's also Tween Waters Inn. One year, immediately after the hurricane, and South Seas still closed, we rented a house for the week- had a pool. It was walking distance to the ocean.

The island itself is so peaceful and quiet.

I've never been in December but the water is likely still warm (Gulf).
