Has anyone had a DC’s college acceptance rescinded based on bad second semester grades?

No but every admission letter usually states acceptance is contingent on final grades.

I know of recruited athletes who lost offers because their grades tanked.

My understanding is that the grades would have to be pretty bad, not just a string of Bs. Some colleges may ask DC to write a letter explaining the grades.

I'm a counselor working in a school - and it's happened 3 times on my advisee list in the last 7 years. Generally because of a D or failing grade in a core subject, not because of a drop from an A to a B.

If I could ask, how selective were the schools doing the rescinding?
