Has anyone else had problems with these shots not completely absorbing and leaving sore, itchy lumps under the skin. I massage them in but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?
Try to warm the oil first - just by rubbing the syringe between your hands. The shots are miserable. Sorry... Wishing you good luck!
You may be allergic. Talk to doctor on call before getting more shots
I heard it was very painful, but I was fine.

Find out what type of oil is in your shots. They often use peanut oil, but sesame and other oils can be used. It may be the oil that is causing you problems.
Easily fixed, however. |
In addition to the previous good advice, you might try warming the shot up for a few minutes as you relax with an ice pack on your bum. After the injection ask your partner to massage the area for 10-15 mins. It helps keep the lumps away.
Thanks all. It's definitely sesame oil and it isn't the pain of the shot itself that bothers me (I actually never ice beforehand) it's the itchy, lumpy & bruised aftermath. DH has been trying to warm the shots for me but unfortunately that doesn't seem to have made much difference. Picked up a heating pad earlier today, so will see if that helps at all. Thanks again.
I had good luck putting the vial in my cleavage for a few minutes pre-shot and letting the oil come up to my body temp. Good luck!
Happens to a lot of women - normal side effect.
