Tell me about Landon Woods and Kenwood Park

We are looking to move and don't know much about the neighborhoods. Our realtor keeps suggesting them. Thanks.

We live in Landon Woods. What do you want to know?

In a nutshell, we were one of the first "tear down" houses in the early 2000s. The neighborhood was mostly older, original owners, hardly any young families with kids. I was reluctant to buy, but there was very little on the market then, and realtor was absolutely correct when he said the neighborhood would change very quickly. Now there are lots of young families, kids, etc. We have a great cadre of neighbors who all hang out together, kids play, parents barbeque, drink, have Superbowl parties, etc.

Thanks! We are definitely looking for that kind of neighborhood. Some questions I have are what grocery store do you use? What is a commute into the Penn Quarter area like (if you know)? I've heard the schools are great. People are friendly it seems according to your response, yes? We have very young kids, so we would like other kids similar in age. Is there a pool anywhere nearby? And what does a weekend in your neighborhood look like? Thanks!

I live in the area, its great. Ideal commute to pretty much anywhere. Terrific schools. Houses sell in a day, so act quickly. Kenwood Park has some nice "mid-century modern" homes and Landon Woods has more traditional style - in general. Yards are nicely landscaped. Tons of families.

Grocery - Giant on Arlington Rd, Safeway at corner of Arlington and Bradley or Giant on Westbard, Whole Foods on River, Trader Joes on Wisconsin and Bradley.

Commute to DC - McCarthur to G'Town. Mass ave to Upper NW via American University which will take you right into Penn Quarter

Schools are Pyle MS and Whitman HS. I think Bradley Hills is the ES?

Pool - Yes but not sure where. I know there are at least 2 in the nearby hoods.
