She doesn't walk. She cartwheels. If it can be climbed without professional equipment, she has stood atop it triumphantly. I'm pretty sure, she has a prehensile tail because I saw her hanging from playground equipment with all four limbs waving free. And it's usually in a skirt or dress. And pretty shoes.
I'd love for the entire neighborhood to not see her underwear or bare belly. I've been making do for years with layering tutus over tights and a body suit, but she's too old for tutus. I'd love to find modest clothes. Is there a particular company? |
Skirts and shirts. Often from Children's place. They have the shorts built in. |
Old navy has biker shorts to wear under skirts. |
Skorts. |
At that age Osh Kosh and stuff from Target are good bets. |
childrens place also sells bike shorts in lots of colors that she can wear under her dresses |
Skorts, shorts ....the soft cotton justice (get them at 40%off), bike shorts gymboree (check online for sale, they have one every other week). For her bare tummy, a tank top...justice has some cute ones and or Gymboree it children's place. They all do good coupons!! |
My daughter is a climber too and always wants to wear dresses. She wears biker style shorts under her dresses. Hannah Andersson, Gymboree, Gap, Target all have them. |
I only have sons, but if I had a daughter I'd want her to be just like yours, OP. Arms triumphantly in the air! ![]() |
We do lots of skorts, and if my daughter is wearing a dress or skirt, she's got on leggings (winter) or shorts (summer) under them. I don't worry about the belly showing, but I don't want her underpants showing.
I found some skinny shorts at Target (circo brand) that were designed for wearing under skirts. |
agree with all of the above - my 4 yr old is the same - luckily, she's in love with tights, so still wearing those every day.
in the summer, i'm hoping to either find thin tights or switch her over to leggings/bike shorts - they can also pull up on the higher side, so cover the belly. |
Skorts and bike shorts.
I wouldn't worry about the bare belly, though. |
X1000. |
Skorts, although they are harder to find in sizes 7 and up.
"Bike" shorts or leggings under other skirts and dresses. I prefer the mostly cotton ones to the nylon and lycra Monkey Bar Buddies (available through Target and Amazon). Gap (listed under both uniforms and undies), Old Navy, Hanna Andersson, etc. I have never really worried about her shirt going up. I figure when she feels the need for modesty in that area she'll learn to tuck in her shirt or cami. Or be wearing a training bra by then. Sneaker ballerina-style shoes are very popular with my DD. Safer and better for climbing and running, yet still girly enough for her. |
Gap, Osh Kosh, Children's Place all have tons of skorts and glittery t-shirts.
I'd caution against Justice, as a lot of their clothes are not modest. After too many in-store arguments, I opted to buy from them online only. |
