Sports bras for large-chested women, under $20-$25?

Anonymous
I can't justify spending more than $20-$25 on a single sports bra. But I need something that fits a larger cup size, and smaller band - more frontal cover, but tighter around the band and shoulders. Can anyone recommend something?

Usually larger cup bras are too loose around, and the tighter ones don't support larger breasts.

Why can't you justify it? I am a D and the workout bra is an essential piece of equipment. If you are really short on money, get one and wash it daily. Your chest will thank you.

You're not going to find a sports bra that is supportive at that price level unless you hit a major sale. It sucks but it's true. If you can spend more, try a regular sports bra - the ones that don't have cups - over a supportive regular bra. Wear the sports bra in the smallest size you can fit into.

Sorry, supposed to be if you CAN'T spend more...

It's worth it to spend the money. Moving Comfort are the best. Prices on amazon are ok.

OP here - I work out 5 days a week, so washing a sports bra every day is just not realistic (even if I wear it twice). Finances are fine, but I guess coming from immigrant parents, I'm always attuned to not over-spending.

What I find works ok for me (generally a 36DD), is wearing 2 reasonable sports bras. It might sound silly, but it tends to keep things comfortable and in place. It works for me, and I'm ok with wearing 2 decent sports bras, rather than one industrial strength one.

But yeah, sports bras at the usual - target, gap, old navy, are far too loose around and over the shoulders, with inadequate cup support.

If you are a DD, you MUST invest in a decent sports bra or two. It's just not worth pain or injury to cheap out on this.

I get it, I am cheap too. I buy my regular underwear and socks from target. But sports bras - I buy moving comfort. Sometimes I can find them for 40. On the upside, I have several that just finally gave out after 5 years of abuse (as in, I just had 2 or 3, worked out five days a week and kept washing and washing). THey are a terrific investment and are well made. You won't regret getting three. Lots of people do the double sports bras thing, but try getting just one that really fits your body. (FYI, I am a 38DD and I do a lot of high impact stuff - running, plyometrics, zumba...I weight train too but don't find the support to be *as* crucial for that kind of activity)

Another recommendation for Moving Comfort. I'm a 36G and just ran my 4th half marathon last weekend...that bra holds me in and provides enough support while still be extremely comfortable and not squeezing the air out of me. Totally, completely worth it. And if you're finding that you need to wear 2 cheaper sports bras to be comfortable, you might as well just get a single, much nicer one.

I'm a 34E and I've bought FANTASTIC sports bras at the Champion outlet in Leesburg. 100% worth the trip out there.

Moving Comfort. I worked in speciality running for 3 years and that is my go to for anyone with a larger chest. The Fiona has been their best seller for years. Yes, they are $45, but I can tell you, it is as important if not more so than having proper running shoes.

For $25, no. Save some more money.

I swear by the UnderArmor one that has a buckle in the back. Lots of front coverage and a tight, but thick band.

I'm a 32DD and they do not move even a fraction of an inch. I work out 7 days a week and only have 2. Since I have kids, I'm running the wash daily.

Ok, you all have swayed me!

Where in the area can I try on Moving Comfort sports bras? I'd like to check them out in person to save time. I was at Sports Authority over the weekend and didn't see any there - where else to check?

City Sports sells Moving Comfort. I just bought one last week. Wacoal also makes a good one. And Enell. Enell is ugly, but it works.
I just learned last week that Moving Comfort is a local company too, founded by women in Arlington!

I actually love my old navy sports bras.
