Skiing in Utah

Can anyone recommend a resort and hotel to stay? We are planning a 5-6 day trip in a second week of January.

It depends what you want. Park City is probably best for nightlife/town. Many people stay in Salt Lake City proper and hit several ski resorts for a couple days each during the week.

We like the Cliff Lodge at Snowbird a lot. There is ice skating, a pool, ski in ski out, etc. But Snowbird and Alta are for pretty hardcore skiers (which we are). There isn't much in the way of nightlife there. And the food is not great either, especially dinner. But the skiing is spectacular and being able to ski between the two areas is a real plus.
