Blighted Ovum Miscarriages

My cousin just confessed to me that she has had three miscarriages (two last year and one this year) and I am devestated for her. She told me they have been due to a blighted ovum. Has anyone had this diagnosis go on to have another child? She is the mother of a nearly five year old and would like to have another.

I read that this is one of the most common causes of pregnancy loss.

I had one, and a few chemical pregnancies. I did go on to have a healthy pregnancy.

They are very common, though three seems like a lot. Is she AMA?
I had one a few years ago, but I went on to have my son a bit over a year later.

She is going to be 35 this year.

I'm actually in the middle of one. My OB told me that since I already know because I have an older child that my husband and I can create a healthy child that the current miscarriage is probably a genetic abnormality.

That said I've heard that 2-3 miscarriages in a row usually triggers additional testing and management of subsequent pregnancies. I hope she is working with a competant doctor.
