| I searched the archives but nothing is quite on point. It is DH's 15 year high school reunion. The only one of his high school friends whose wife I'm close to isn't going. Invite is cocktail party at the school for all years and then class dinner, also at the school. I'm thinking dark jeans, dressy top, heals and fun jewelry. We will most likely end up at a bar at the end of the night. Any thoughts? |
| When I went to my DH's 10-year a few years ago, everyone was in cocktail attire and ties...but it was at a hotel... |
| No jeans! A fun cocktail dress or cute fancy ankle pants. |
| When isn't says cocktail attire, you don't wear jeans. |
Disagree. With enough jewelry and heels, jeans are fine for a reunion. |
| What kind of school? My private school reunions here in DC are pretty casual. |
| Fun colored cocktail dress, DO NOT wear jeans. |
| Op here. Reunion is local all boys school. The invite didn't say anything about attire. Just "cocktails on the lawn for all classes" and then my husband's class dinner at the school. Ugh, I don't have any dresses that look good right now (only a few months pp). I have one nice pair of jeans in my current size so I was hoping those would work. Guess ill have to shop. Ugh. Anyone want to link some suggested dresses? I'm about a size 10 right now, nursing boobs and wide hips... |
| Do you have to go? I sent my H to his 25th reunion solo last year and I honestly think we were both happier, he could chat and not have to give me the backstory, and I could si at home, do On Demand and drink wine. |
WTF are "fancy ankle pants"? |
| If it were me I would wear a cute dress, but I think jeans are fine if you dress them up. But I would seriously consider not going. If you don't know the wives, it won't be a lot of fun for you. |
| Is this sta? Don't worry about it. The guys will be wearing khakis and polls or button down or maybe jeans. Jeans and a dressy to should be fine. |
Based on this follow up, I'd say dark jeans are fine if you dress them up with accessories. Be mindful of what shoes you wear if you'll be on the lawn. |
These?

| I'd wear a dress -- less "cocktail" and more on the casual, but cute side with fun shoes and jewelery-- check out Anthropologie. Think spring/summer patio party. Jeans and a dressy top would be OK, but I'm thinking you'll see more women in dresses, so you might feel more comfortable in a dress yourself. |
