need a cheap hotel or B&B in Philly

We'll be 1 or 2 adults with 2 kids, ages 8 and 11. Any suggestions?

How cheap is cheap? I like to stay at the Loews. Super convenient location and under $200 a night.

under $100/night would be ideal.

use hotwire. you can get a hotel under 100 easy. i like to try for university city, that way i can usually find free parking near the penn campus.

Thanks! Help me understand something about hotwire. I go, use their "Super hot deals" search function, and get some mystery 3 star hotel hotel in the downtown area I wants for $99.

OR

I use their "Standard rate hotels" function for the same weekend and get the Double Tree Hotel for $109 a night. THey name the hotel for $10 extra? I go online to the Double tree hotel for that weekend and their best rate is $189. So that's a decent savings right there right?

Is there any reason not to just book Double Tree Hotel though hotwire?

There are forums out there to ID the mystery hotels. Google Priceline and Hotwire forums.
