In an ideal world if you could request a tailored maternity leave, what would it be?
Here is mine: - 0-6 months (stay at home) - 6- 9months (work p/t from home) - 9-18 months (work p/t from office) - 18 months + return full time What about you? |
| I was very lucky and my office granted me 2.5 years of maternity leave (4 months on full pay and the rest leave without pay) and they kept my job open by employing a contractual for the time i was off. I thoroughly enjoyed it but I have been back for 7 moths now and it is still so hard. I mss being with my kids so much. |
This sounds awesome. Where do you work, I want to work there too
|
| The perfect maternity leave is the one where I don't have to go back to work at all if I don't have to for money. so basically, I would still be on maternity leave, and my kids are in elementary school. |
| I was on maternity leave for 5 months then went back to telecommuting. After 2 months of this arrangement, I switched to full-time. I couldn't get any work done with my kid in the house. She was with a nanny until 3 years old and everyone was extremely happy. |
| Six months |
| Sounds good to me! Only thing is that I think I was ready for pt work at 4 months for a few hours/day. |
|
0-9 months - SAH
9-15 months -Return to work PT 15 months - FT work Working from home isn't an option for me, but I wish! |
| 8 weeks off, then return at 80% schedule forever with 1-2 telework days built in. I wouldn't want years off. I miss my work and feel really isolated home with a baby all day. |
That works if you only plan to have one. If you plan to have two about two years apart (which seems to be the plurality), you end up going back to work when you are 3 months pregnant. So, then do you work fulltime for 6 months and start the process over? |
. I was ready to go back part time at ten weeks, and eased back into 80%. |
| I am getting ready to go back at 12 weeks and I'm looking forward to it, but I work from home. |
This. In both cases I returned to full time after 4 months and was so angry and miserable. I just didn't want to be there. |
Yeah they need parents home more when in ES far more than when they are babies. |
