Specifically, I'm talking about religions/sects that are clearly hate groups - like Nation of Islam, and Westboro Baptist Church.
Say, I'm hiring for my company, and a WBC member, or a NOI member applied. Legally, could I discriminate and not hire them based on their affiliation with such a hateful group? Or, would I be breaking the law. What happens when a religion/sect crosses into hate group territory, but technically, it's still a religion? |

| 16:09 again. I recognize that your intentions may be good (at least insofar as Westboro) but the intention of the law is that religion not be taken into consideration in hiring decisions. Hiring is to be based on credentials (merit) not on consideration of protected activity (religion, race, disability, etc.) |
