She definitely has a Spanish accent, Castillian accent, but she is obviously not Spanish the longer you listen. In real life, after about 3 minutes, people would compliment her on her Spanish and ask where she's from. If she said Boston, Spanish people would be highly impressed, if she said Majorca, they would be confused.


She never claimed to be a POC but she enjoyed a sort of POC-adjacent status. She never disabused anyone of the notion. Yeah - I just had hubby listen to the video and he says she has a VERY good Spanish accent but he identified like 3-4 anglicisms in her speech that are not of a native speaker. Now being bicultural that could be normal but considering her parents are not Spanish - I definitely need mor wig an explanation. Do her and her brother really speak in Spanish - that is weird because you can’t get Latino kids who grow up here to speak In Spanish to their siblings (they always choose the majority language) do they really regularly speak in Spanish as she was implying by showing that text?

I don’t think it’s jealousy. There’s a righteous indignation, prob due to being passed over. It’s easier to be mad at someone plastic like HB, than look at the internal cray/plain issues.

Spanish people with European descent are definitely white as things stand now. Whiteness is a construct and different groups have been considered white during different time periods, but yes Spaniards are white (unless their lineage includes non-white people, of course). This is why Latin America is full of white people; they are descendants of Spanish and Portuguese people. The problem with HB is more about her fetishizing the general Hispanic culture, I think, like her comments about being dark and being confused for a nanny, in addition to straight-up lying.

Italy and Spain are the fourth and fifth economies in the European Union after Germany, UK and France.

Europeans don't think Italians and Spanish are colored people, but mediterranean. They are not so blonde and light as in the north of europe, but they are definitely white. French are in this same category too btw.
