| Our family has recently relocated from NYC where there's an abundance of Russian language schools and classes. We are looking for Saturday/Sunday classes for our 5yo DS. Preferably in NOVA. |
|
Please come and visit Russian School Olympus in Cabin John Middle school in Potomac. There is 150 children attending this school (on Saturdays) where they learn Russian language and much more. Its just amazing, everyone there - teachers, children from 3 to 18 years old speaks Russian.
Website is http://www.russianolympus.com/summercamp They also have a Summer Camp. We started there in September and my DD Russian is much better then before. They also have dance, theater, art and more in Russian: here is more photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10200544023335626.1073741828.1009683212&type=1&l=603261a1dd |

There are two Russian schools in Falls Church:
Metaphor http://metaphorschool.com/ and Virginia Russian Academy www.russianacademy.org |
| Falls Church Preschool is a Russian-based school. Elena offers evening language classes during the year. |
I have personal experience with Olympus, Metaphor and the Russian school Shalom based in the Rockville JCC. Olympus historically has closer ties to the Russian embassy. Metaphor is independent. Both schools provide decent language training, though there may be mediocre teachers. The school in Rockville would work for you if you are Jewish. Classes meet on Sundays. There is also a Baptist church in NoVA that has a sizable Russian-speaking congregation and there is a school and camp affiliated with it. Don't know how well they teach they language, but they are very aggressive in religious indoctrination of students and families. Any school you contact, ask about religious affiliations. |
| We have used both Virginia Russian Academy and Metaphor and prefer Metaphor. We also like their summer camp. |
| My DD is 6 1/2. Would it be too late to start her in lessons? |
|
My child goes to Metaphor http://metaphorschool.com/
We like it. But need to mention to you that 5 year olds have TONS of homework! |
| How many children are in the class? |
