Trying to help my husband organize a casual work dinner for about 30 people and hoping someone on here will have good suggestions for the Bethesda area (doesn't have to be in downtown). Hoping to find a place with a back room or perhaps even consider options for catering a picnic or BBQ at a local park. Open to any and all suggestions!
THANK YOU! |
If you go for the park/catering offering, friends of mine had a party with Urban BBQ (in Rockville):
http://www.urbanbbqco.com/catering/ It was yummy! |
Magiannos has a private room. (friendship heights) |
Positano in Bethesda has a great private space - the "wine room." |
I think Grapeseed has a private room. |
Thanks for the suggestions. Interested to hear more about Positano's...never been before. Is the food good? On their website looks like are used to doing large groups....are those set menu meals good?
And what about Guapa's do they have a private room? |
It's in NW DC, but pretty close to Bethesda -- Chef Geoff's in Foxhall has a private room. |
I'm the one who recommended Positano. The food is traditional Italian and so good, and the service is really excellent. I have been to several private events there as it is a favorite of my family's. Try it for dinner before you choose for the event, I don't think you will be disappointed. |
Guapo's has some back dining rooms that I am pretty sure they sometimes use as private dining rooms. (Guapo's is one of my secret/guilty pleasures.) |
Lebanese taverna can shut off different parts of they restaurant to create private rooms. |
Seasons 52 on Rockville Pike ( just past NIH) has a wonderful private room. |
I wouldn't do Guapo's. One of those back rooms has its own bathrooms and a closet full of cleaning products, and is the "noisy little kids" ghetto on busy weekend nights. We got stuck back there one Friday, and the whole room reeked of bathroom cleaner. |
OP here. We ate dinner last night at Positano's and ended up booking the wine room for the upcoming event. Their wine room will be perfect! Thanks to all for the suggestions. |
Yay!
