I have a 8 x 10 Dash & Albert woven cotton rug in the nursery and it has gotten grungy. I've flipped it already, so both sides are gross...what next? How and where can I best clean it? ANy recommendations for a place to take a run in Silver Spring/Chevy Chase/Bethesda? Has anyone successfully done this? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! |
I have a Dash & Albert runner....I threw mine in the washer and then air dried it |
I have one too, and it's nasty! I found this article but I have not yet tried it because I am a condo dweller without a backyard

The sutton place blog offers directions for an indoor outdoor rug; not a cotton rug. |

Same problem! the 8x 10 wont fit in the washer - I machine wash my smaller D and A rugs all the time. Anyone have a solution for a larger rug? Would a Laundromat washer be big enough? |
Ayoub on Metropolitan Ave in Kensington does a great job. Prices are reasonable. They are family owned and very pleasant to work with. |
I took mine to Ayoub, but we had a stain on it that we waited too long to deal with. They did the best they could, but it didn't fully come out. Ours is heading to a basement playroom and we'll find something sturdier for the bedroom. FWIW, I still love their rugs and love how easy my indoor/outdoor one is to clean. May try a wool one for the bedroom. |
How much did you pay at Ayoub? Thanks! |
I throw mine in one in one if the medium sized washers at the laundromat and then air dried it on the railing of our deck. Worked great. |
