Prosthodontist or General Dentist?

I just broke a crown. I've always had my general dentists do them (in previous cities), and they've done a fine job, but I don't know about my current dentist. What are the pros and cons of having a prosthodonist do a crown vs. a general dentist? Do prosthodontists do a much, much better job cosmetically?

Prostho recommendations welcome. I'm in Vienna but own a car. Thanks!

Yes! Much better crown with a prostho. Recommend Keith Progebin. He's in Dupont.

Thank you! I've seen recommendations for him and was planning to call today. I'd be grateful for any more details you're willing to share.

Also - I'm seeing my general dentist this week. Any tips on how to tell him I'm going to have this work done by a prosthodontist, not him?

You can blow off your regular dentist. Dr. P. will do everything for you. He is truly awesome and a really great guy. Just a warning, he's pricey but worth every penny IMO.
