| Dingbat just walked into the street with her iphone earbuds on without any awareness of traffic sounds around her or realization she that her walk light was red. |
| How about just letting Darwin's theory cull the herd? |
Because if you strike a pedestrian, it sucks for you. |
If someone is wearing earbuds and crosses against the light, stepping in front of your car, I do believe the law plants firmly on your side |
Why is the answer legislation? |
| Let's worry about the laws we already have-- I nearly get run down on a weekly basis when I have the light. Not defending the ped here, but IME drivers are at fault at least as often, if not more. |
| They just need to be banned, period! SO sick of idiots walking / driving while completely tuned-out (and probably "turned on" thanks to our lame pot laws). |
| jaywalking is illegal. |
| headphones, iEarbuds, dre-beat ear-cans....are all a blight on society. everyone in their own little world putting about. |
|
Do libs really want to regulate EVERYTHING? Seriously? This is about personal responsibility. You walk in front of a moving car because you are immersed in your music, you probably will get hit.
Don't do it and you won't. This isn't rocket science and we don't need to regulate it. |
| When the class-action lawsuits come in for hearing damage, etc. then they will have this. Headphones have been ubiquitous for the under 30 crowd for about the last 10 years, so hearing loss should be afflicting them in masses in about another 10. |
| I think the people who are too busy staring at their phones while they walk into traffic are worse... once a girl on a bike swerved in front of us... because she was TEXTING. WHILE RIDING HER BIKE. |
Unfortunately, this is the direction we are rapidly heading. |
Not this lib. All for Darwin on this one. |
| I can't stand seeing everyone with their earbuds while grocery shopping. We've gotten so connected that we're now disconnected from our neighbor. |
