Trying to decide if it would be a good fit for my DD. Thank you. |
Which one? |
My daughter is currently in K in Sligo Creek. It has been great. We are very happy with the teachers and the program. What are you looking for in terms of "fit"? Some parents (like us) applied for the lottery because learning French in particular is important, others applied because of the added challenge and the overall benefit of learning a second language. |
Our son has been very well served by the French Immersion program! He loved his Kindergarten teacher and we felt really happy to get such a high quality education. |
It is very minimal "immersion" and the education is not of higher quality. It is just occasionally spoken in French.

French Immersion is full immersion K-5, then partial 6-8. My kids attended through middle school. Excellent. |

It is not minimal--unless by minimal you mean total. The Kindergarten teacher spoke only in French, so much so that my child (and others) wondered if she spoke English. As for comparison, we sent our child to the Washington International School for French summer camp and found the language instruction was minimal THERE. The cost however, was not at all minimal. |
I am not sure about the French but I can tell you the Chinese is only for a few subjects. The rest of the day is in English. |
