are posts that mention a school administrator by name removed?

I had a terrible experience with a school administrator a while back and mentioned the name. I could not find the post searching for the name a few weeks later. Are posts removed if they mention names?

Generally, yes, unless you identify yourself in a verifiable way. How would you feel if someone who had a difficult time with you posted the story anonymously while identifying you by name?

So if someone identifies themself they can identify someone else. Although I have heard that on yelp even if one is telling the truth it is not so simple, and one can still get in trouble for relating a true story that is unfavorable to the person in question. At least temporarily, and one has to phrase it correctly.

Slander is wrong, but Im still trying to figure out where it is ok to speak the truth without having to risk harm to oneself.

THanks however for answering my question. I thought I had seen others mentioned by name so I did not know why one post was removed.

Follow up on a related issue. There is a thread in the infertility forum specifically discussing a nurse named Lachelle (or something similar). The name is in the title of the thread as is this person's place of employment (shadey grove, I think). The OP voiced concerns about how this nurse was dealing with their issues and wanted feedback. I was surprised to see such details about a specific individual.

Following the guidelines above, shouldn't this thread also be removed? And, going forward should we report them when we see them?

Thanks in advance for any further guidance.

As you can imagine, I rarely, essentially never, read the infertility forum. So, unless threads like this are reported, I won't know about them. It's late now and I want to go to bed. But, tomorrow, I'll check that one. It sounds like the sort of thing I wouldn't allow.

You are correct that even when you don't actually commit slander you may be sued by an overzealous plaintiff. The reason I want you to identify yourself is so you are the one with the problem rather than me.

Thanks for the response. I will report similar issues if I see them.

Since I have your attention, I just want to say thank you for always doing a great job. This forum has become a great resource for me on many levels.

Have a good day.

Thank you. This morning I removed the post that mentioned the nurse in a negative manner.
