I am on pregnancy #2 at 21 weeks and I finally feel good. I am no longer sick and I am not yet huge. I am sleeping well, with only 1-2 trips to the bathroom at night. Oh, the false security of the 2nd trimester!
I can't remember when I started to slow down/ become exhausted during my previous pregnancy. I do remember being wiped out at my shower at 33 weeks. When did you start to feel the effects of carrying around another person (or two)? |
I'm at 37 weeks now.
I'd say that I started slowing down a bit at 34 weeks, with a big-time slow-down at 36 weeks. I can't sleep more than 7 or so hours in a row, so I've taken to naps immediately after work, then waking up for a few hours, then sleeping again. I'm sore and achy and all exercise except for mild yoga and slow, short walks are out the door. And I've had an easy pregnancy and "only" gained 30 pounds!! |
At 36 weeks I felt and moved at the speed of a beached whale (and I only gained 24 pounds, so what gives?).
I skipped taking my prenatals by accident (all day work conference, family issues, other crazy things...) and definitely felt more exhausted than usual so DON'T slack on taking those vitamins. I guess my little sprout knows he/she is definitely on the home stretch because its pulling on all my body's resources right now. Good luck and congrats. |
Just hit 37 weeks and last week it became totally clear that I can't work all day and then do something afterwork that requires sitting/standing/etc because the feet and ankles just get too swollen so I'd say last week was my forced slow down time. It sucks that in the last few weeks my brain says go, go, go - organize, file, shop, nest but my body says hush up and sleep! ![]() |
I am at 33 weeks with my 2nd and feel like the others. Have not gained that much (20 lbs) but feel so heavy. I am also packing up my house for an upcoming move. The more I move around though, the better I feel. At the end of the day my belly is so HUGE. I am constantly spilling things on myself. |
I am at almost 34 weeks and feel awful already. I barely sleep at night, I am achy all over, can't get comfortable, my back is killing me (if I get up and move suddenly I need a minute to "get moving"), my belly feels and looks like it's going to pop, my maternity pants are falling off, I can't breathe..the list goes on! I have definitely had to slow down simply because my body is giving out!! |
I'm also 34 weeks with #2. I feel exactly the same as PP (20:24)! My belly feels like it's going to explode, I can't stand for long (yet sitting also kills my back). I can't find a single comfortable sleeping position. None of my maternity clothes are comfortable anymore. I think this is much worse that it was for #1 (either that or I've forgotten how tough it is). |
Around 38 weeks..... I was lucky and had a great pregnancy. |
It's gotta be that it's #2 (i'm the previous poster) because I think I may have only really gotten this crummy during my last two weeks which in my case were weeks 40 and 41. |
