| I know, I KNOW. Believe me. I really hate fast food with the exception of maybe chick fil a occasionally. But, I have an infant, my DH travels for work, I also work, and I have these three options right next to my house, all with drive throughs. Is there anything at all that is passable to eat? I would really appreciate any recommendations. Last week I was starving and just did not have the energy to make something or go out to get it, and I really wished I could have just grabbed something.. |
| I personally stay away from Taco Bell and KFC because I don't eat meat but I did try the veggie burger at bk a few days ago and it was pretty good, its a morningstar farms patty with veggies on a bun, pretty similiar to something i would make at home. I think it's fine to indulge in fast food occasionally, get what you like, enjoy it. |
| And the sweet potato fries at BK aren't bad taste wise. |

Nothing great, but if you're careful about your choices the occasional fast food won't kill you.
But take a careful look at the nutrition info. For example, at BK: http://www.bk.com/cms/en/us/cms_out/digital_assets/files/pages/MenuNutritionInformation_April2013_1.pdf Asking for a whopper without mayo cuts 160 calories and 18g of fat. Better still, the grilled chicken w/o mayo, veggie burger w/o mayo or fish sandwich w/o tartar sauce aren't terrible. All 400 calories or less and less than 10g of fat. They still have tons of sodium though so it's not an every day thing. Skip a drink and keep some fruit or a bag of pre-washed salad at home and you won't have to get fries or soda (just empty calories and fat). |
| Subway.... |
| I like bean burrritos at taco bell. The fresco ones are pretty tasty. |
| You are also posting on YBM. Traitor! |

I don't care for TB but they have a 'fresco' menu that advertises under 9g fat and 350 calories
http://www.tacobell.com/food/menu/fresco and bk has salads and a grilled chicken sandwich and chicken wrap and as someone else said, get a whopper jr with no mayo for about 350 calories |

HAHA so true! Although technically I used to post there first b/c I lived in NYC
|
| I don't know about those places but TJs sells great freshpack ravioli that I keep as an emergency stash in the freezer for those quick and easy dinner days. Probably not much healthier than fast food but at least I know what's in it. |
|
Definitely the taco bell bean burritos and the fresca bean burritos.
Love the chicken strips and mashed potatos at KFC, but I would never delude myself into thinking they were healthy. Burger King is awful. |
| Chicken tacos fresca style at taco bell are tasty and pretty healthy. |

Isn't there anywhere close you can get sushi, pho, thai, a salad.
I will get a salad and a wrap at McD or if I go to KFC - chicken but none of their sides - I will have a small salad with it at home. I like taco bell bean burritos. |
