I am SOOOOO sick of sears service
I will NEVER buy another kenmore appliance no-one will service them except sears...right now they're (sears) won't come and look at my furnace for 8 days, tho it's malfunctioning AAAAAARGH!!!! |

We had to get our Kenmore vacuum fixed (for no reason it lost suction) and took it the Sears at Fair Oaks Mall. We had to wait 6+ weeks to get it back and paid $250 for it!!!
And everytime I called to check on the status and figure out what was taking so long I was put on hold or go a recording and it was like pulling teeth to speak to a human. I should've just bought a new vacuum. |
| I haven't been in a Sears since what we like to call "the microwave incident". Long story short - bought a Kenmore micro. There was some recall thing that took forever for them to "fix". The fix broke my micro. Multiple calls, multiple times being stood up the date of the repair and my husband finally ripped it off the wall, marched it back to Sears and got our money back. Never again. |
| 'Sears' actually makes all of its money off of Discover cards now. They couldn't care less if nobody ever set foot in another Sears. |

I also had a terrible experience getting a dryer fixed.
They came out and fixed it. It worked for a day. When I called back to discuss, I was COMPLETELY UNABLE TO GET A HUMAN BEING ON THE PHONE to discuss the problem. Basically, I didn't want to pay a second time to hear it couldn't be fixed. I finally had to drive to Sears to speak to a sales rep who was able to connect me with someone with authority. It did get fixed properly in the end, but not without a great deal of hassle. |

| I am resurrecting this thread because I HATE Sear's. Don't ever buy an appliance from them. I just took a half a day off of work to get a no show repair on our washing machine. Spent 45 minutes on the phone to get the next available appt in 3 weeks!!! Because they missed the appt! |

NEVER AGAIN.
I bought a new washing machine from Sears -- scratch and dent. "Fully tested and functional!" They delivered it. I put my laundry in. Halfway through the cycle it stopped. Wet clothes completely stuck in the washer. Unplugged, replugged, you name it. They said they could have a repairman out in a WEEK AND A HALF. With my clothes stuck inside. Yeah. I threw a fit and "only" had to wait 4 days. Apparently it was missing some part that they could get for me in a month. For my new washer that had never even seen a completed cycle. Enter fit 2.0 and they eventually agreed to yank the part out of another machine. Hope they didn't sell that one to someone who was as big of a sucker as I was. |
| Consumer report is in bed with sears or something since kenmore always make it to the top.. we stupidly followed their advice and a day after the warranty - our $300 vacuum cleaner completely chocked- the engine and the switches all failed.. our credit card carried an extended warranty for one year over manufacturers (AX) and they just paid us out given the mess that appliance was.. we have a washer and dryer - something- issues galore.. |
I had this issue with our washing machine. I wrote a NASTY letter with details, costs, all the info and send it to their entire Board of Directors slate and all officers that I could find on Yahoo finance. I also cc'd Better Business bureau and consumer reports. They accidentally refunded $200 more than I had paid. I too will not shop there anymore- we had a HORRIBLE experience, and even after the refund, I was pissed that I had to work that hard to get it. But, put it in writing, be factual, copy the right people, and I suspect you might get some results. DH and I swear to only buy from Costco from now on b/c I like their customer svc / return policy. |
