| I'm very confused on how I do these calorie counting/food logs. For instance for lunch I'm having turkey wing portions baked (2) and its asking me for ounces and I'm totally confused. Also when I cook I don't measure the seasonings I just sprinkle it on the taste how to a put this. I also did not measure my pasta. This is my first day using this and I'm very confused any help.... |
| what are you using to count calories? Some things like myfitness pal will let you put things like past in by volumetric measurement like cups instead of ounces. I find it good to get a food scale and weigh tthings liek meat to give you an idea of what 3 ox of meat look like. After a while you know what it looks like and can eyeball it. |
| Oh yes I'm using myfitnesspal |

Buy a scale and weigh or measure everything. It's a total hassle at first, but this is how you learn what a real portion size looks like. For me it was kind of shocking to see how many portions of X (and how many calories) I normally ate. I got a manual scale at Bed Bath and Beyond for around $15. Digital scales started at around $20 iirc.
That said, I don't bother to log spices. They few times I did it added something ridiculous, like 1 calorie. I generally tend to come in at least a hundred calories under my daily allotment, so I don't worry about it. |
