Ideally in DC or Montgomery, not too far out. DD has some issues with reading and learning in general. Although I think her teacher says they are minor, she may qualify for special education. Parents complain a lot about the special Ed program at my school (stoddert in NW DC). Wondering what schools have great programs.
Not interested in debating on whether DD needs special Ed or not, just want to hear about great programs. Thanks!! |
Burning Tree in Bethesda has a "learning center" for special ed children. They integrate them into mainstream as much as possible. Heard really good things about the program, and in particular, that school....
You may want to post on the special needs board as well. Bethesda Elementary gets mentioned frequently as a good place but I don't have any personal experience with it.
Another vote for Bethesda Elementary.
John Eaton Elementary. DCPS. A real team approach, very happy with sped teacher and administration.
