| Is anyone else out there concerned about the sheer amount of standardized testing in DC schools these days? My elementary school child is taking at least 5 different standardized tests this year -- four DC-BAS tests and the DC-CAS at the end of the year. That's 10 days dedicated to testing. I find it completely outrageous. The schools are forced to teach to the test -- not just one test, but five. All this testing does not add up to education. It is a shame, but it will probably force me to look at private schools very soon. I'm disappointed in Rhee. |
