I've just about had it. If you cannot maneuver your big car through my neighborhood in DC, then get a smaller car or just don't drive through my neighborhood. Don't expect me to "get out of your way" (i.e. squeezing my regular sized car into an empty parking space so that you can drive in the middle of the road) I won't do it anymore. Don't drive like this is the burbs... it is not. You won't be able to drive 35 mph in my neighborhood, it's residential!
I seriously wanted to punch the guy (yes, it is guys quite often) in the face this morning, when he raised his hand at me, although I was driving in MY lane and thus keeping him from driving in the middle of the street. Seriously. Stop it. Now flame away. I needed to get this out. |
| No flaming. Just support! Right on sister (or brother)! |
I live in the burbs and I support you. I hate the fact that they're here too. |
| .... And they need to GET OFF THE DAMN PHONE! |
| how do you know he's a suburban driver??? |
| hmmmm...maybe it was the tags that gave it away. |
u mean bc we drive with our eyes closed? |
|
OP here. The dude had Maryland tags. So it's extremely likely he was a suburban driver.
I am glad I am not the only one who is bothered by it! |
They drive down the middle of the road in the burbs too and I want to scream - Move over fat @$$! |
| So annoying! These people with their Chevy Suburbans and Denalis who are usually ON THE PHONE! Oh, how I wish we had a commuter tax! |
| But would a non-SUV car be able to drive by without any problems? I ask because on some of these streets, even 2 sedans wouldn't be able to get by, without one car yielding. Unless they both happen to drive smart cars. |
Or a higher tax based on the weight and width of the car. |
OP here. This street would be wide enough if both the SUV driver and the sedan driver yield to the right and go at slower speed. Of course, if a street is not wide enough to allow two cars to use it at the same time, that's a completely different story. In that case both should be considerate and determine who should yield. But that was not the case this morning and most of the other times when the SUV driver thinks he/she should come first. |

get over it. |
you forgot to say it's the Suburban SUV driver, not any SUV driver. |
