Hello,
I am hoping to buy a pregnancy pillow to help with my back pain at night. Does anyone have any recommendations? There seem to be a lot of places that sell the pillows online and I am having trouble deciding by just looking at the shapes. Thanks! |
I never bought a pregnancy pillow - I took a regular pillow, and put that between my legs while I was sleeping (I'm a side sleeper). I found that this really relieved the back pain. |
I highly recommend the snoogle pillow.
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2267435 I got it when I was about 4-5 months pregnant and having bad back pain. I'm now 8 mos pregnant and wouldn't have gotten through the nights without it. The one thing I recommend is the cover that comes with it is pretty scratchy. I also bought the organic pillow case for it which is much more soft. |
I got the Leachco Back and Belly. I was on bed rest from week 28 on, which was causing a lot of pain in the sciatic nerve from laying in bed all day. This pillow worked great, the pain disappeared within two days.
The pillow is very firm and hugged my body so that I could semi-lay on my back when I want to give my left side a break and it kept me from rolling completely on my back. When I put my leg over it, it kept it aligned straight instead of at an angle, which did wonders for the hip pain. I slept very soundly after I got it. Yes, it gets a little hot and it was pricey but I'm very happy we got it. |
I started using just a regular pillow between my legs while sleeping on my side. That was ok, but I found myself waking up on my back a lot and doing a lot of tossing and turning. So I broke down and bought a snoogle about 2 weeks ago (at 24 weeks) and I LOVE it. There's no comparison between the snoogle and a regular bed pillow. The snoogle is awesome!!! My DH curled up with it the other night to test it, and I was afraid I wouldn't get it back! I highly recommend it. The only downside is that it makes cuddling with my DH rather difficult. : ) |
I also bought the Leachco Back 'N Belly Body Pillow. Yes, it's huge and it does make cuddling with your husband much harder, but I wouldn't have made it the last 2 months without it! It's definitely been worth it. |
Thanks so much for the recommendations! I really appreciate it. |
I used a long body pillow, it was great (and only $10 instead of $50 for the snoogle) |
Also, I found the snoogle to be too high and too hard. I used the boppy pg pillow for pg#1 and I am now using for pg#2 and I love it. http://www.target.com/Boppy-Pregnancy-Comfort-Cuddle-Pillow/dp/B00063EDEK It got great reviews on the target website. |
