Does SG do labs in-house or at LabCorp?

I had to go to the LabCorp across the hall from SG today and didn't have a great experience. If you are a SG patient, are the labs done there or in-house at SG?

I am at SG in Annandale. Their labs are collected in-house in the morning from 6:45-9:00 and at 10:00 a courier comes and delivers all the samples to the Rockville office where it is processed.

I only had to go to Lab Corp at the very beginning when I was getting the workup done. After that, everything was done in Shady Groves offices. At one point, I had to have blood work that was sent out to a lab (to check my liver function levels) but I had my blood drawn at Rockville they messengered that to the other lab. I had my bloodwork done at both K STreet and Rockville and I will tell you when I went to Rockville, I got the call from my nurse much earlier than when I went to K Street.

That is one of the most annoying things about Shady Grove, you have to go to their lab *and* to LabCorp! Most of the regular monitoring can be done in their office, but there are certain tests that they insist you have, yet they send you to LabCorp. So on two different occassions, I had to get stuck once by SG nurse, then go down the hall to get stuck by LabCorp. I even tried to ask if one nurse could draw the blood and then just get the right tubes from the other nurse, but of course that didn't work out.

Ugh, that is what I was afraid of. The sign-in sheet listed people and why they were there and appeared to include SG patients (privacy anyone). I was considering a switch to their practice, but I'm not so sure now.

I am a SG patient and had to go to Lab Corp two times, once at the very beginning and the second time when I was back a couple of years later to try for baby #2. SG sent me there to do the infectious disease bloodwork (not sure why they don't do it in house). Everything else was done at SG. It really wasn't that big of a deal. And, at least when I went, they definitely didn't identify people by the referring clinic on the sign-in sheet. I think I just signed my name and appointment time, so I did not have any privacy concerns.

as far as I know they use in house labs for monitoring, and the initial blood work we had to do at lab corp.
