Is it really "to which gym" and not "which gym do you belong to"?
Serious question. I know a lot grammar nannies are on here. I'd like to know. This syntax reminds me of those people that use "I" when they mean "me." |
I think "belong to" is a phrasal verb (verb + preposition, give up, hang up, hang on to, etc) and it is fine to end a sentence this way. |
| Chevy Chase Athletic Club is trying to attract more members, especially those who left WSC when the Chevy Chase club closed. They have a good new spinning instructor and a great exercise instructor, Libby. The clientele skews older, but it's worth taking a look. |
| The one in my basement. |
| I run and bike outside! |
It's OK regardless of ending a sentence with a preposition, and it's not on the same level as getting subject and object pronouns wrong. |
+1. The classes are fantastic. It's the best gym I've ever belonged to. |
