At the very least, Sarah Palin got $150,000 worth of clothes for herself and family.

This would be a non-issue if not for the fact that the McCain/Palin ticket likes to pretend that they are "normal, hard-working Americans". The woman has to wear clothes, but if you are going to talk the talk then you should walk the walk. At least John Edwards spent his own money on his $400 haircut. |
I am curious why a haircut costs $400? |
This would not be an issue if the economy were not imploding and McCain and Palin were not acting like Joe the Plumber were their neighbor and they actually cared about him. I'm not Joe the Plumber and work at a "white collar" job, but I don't recall the last time I walked into a Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Avenue.

Whose wardrobe costs $150K? I think even in a lifetime of 80 years, I would not spend that much in my wardrobe. |
Yeah, it would have been okay in my book if they had gotten her clothes at Filene's or even Macy's. |
I guess she is trying to make up for her lack of brains with her wardrobe. |
OP here. I hope you RNC donors feel you're getting your money's worth with your hard earned money going to outfit the petty, shallow governor with questionable ethics.
If Joe really is Joe the Plumber, I doubt he can afford to shop at Saks & Neiman Marcus. The dress that Michelle Obama wore on The View cost $150 and after that show, all of those dresses were bought by average Josephines. The Republicans are so out of touch with the average people, that they go on a wardrobe binge at Neiman and Saks? Oh, but don't worry, because under the McPalin administration, you'll save a lot from capital gains. Hmmm... I don't think that the average Joe the Plumber or Joe the 6-pack even has a portfolio to benefit from the capital gains savings. |
Interesting that she didn't shop for all of that clothingin the real America. Saks Fifth Avenue is where Ivy-League elite liberal NY Jews who hate America shop before their afternoon abortions-on-demand.
Also note: --the Obama campaign has incurred no similar expenses --they paid close to $5,000 to outfit Todd Palin; strongly doubt that it was at Men's Wearhouse or Snowmobile's R Us. Palin says the middle class is where "Todd and I have been" all of their lives. Except that charging your state to bring your daughter on a junket to NYC, staying in a $700 hotel, is hardly middle-class living. In fact, it sounds a whole lot like "spreading the wealth." To yourself. |
Oh snap, PP! ![]() |
Like Hillary's pant suits didn't cost the DNC anything? Especially when she had to decide between the custom- fitted pumpkin orange or the modest blue one when she spoke at the DNC. |
Palin is puss.
There should be no mention of RNC in a thread about Palin-puss. |
What does this remark mean? |
Actually it would be interesting to know. Did Clinton pay for the clothes or did the DNC? Why don't you research that, pp, and get back to us? |
I'm sure the OP isn't an RNC donor so I can't imagine why she cares about this. I'd also point out that Michelle Obama wore a stunning Maria Pinto dress for her speech at the DNC, with a price tag over $2000, and another designer dress for Barack's speech. Barack wore a custom-made suit from Chicago-based Hart Schaffner & Marx. I thought they looked fabulous.
As I am not an RNC donor, I couldn't care less how the RNC spends its money. In fact, as a Democrat, I'd much rather see them put their money toward wardrobe than toward advertising. So let's hope the RNC keeps spending their money in this way instead of on attack ads! |
