How long until your child felt settled at new school?

| She was settled within the first week (for K). How old is your child? Does s/he generally transition slowly, or do you have reason to believe there may be real issues of fit? |

| It might be hard to tell if it is his/her first time at school. My 3 yr old DD started preschool in Sept 2 mornings a week and still isn't settled. Maybe 3 days a week would've gotten her into the routine faster. Who knows? If it is everyday, I would think by Halloween or Thanksgiving would be a decent amount of time. Sometimes the school/teacher is just not a good fit so talk to the teacher and your child to pinpoint the problems. |
