So sad Natalia's Bakery is closed :(

It's for a great reason-she had a baby.

I loved that bakery. The décor was perfect. I felt like I was in a café in Europe. Such a great place to get coffee and a treat. Great desserts. Booo Hoooo! Wish we had more places like that in northern Virginia. I admit I like Starbucks coffee, but there was something so special and unique about everything at Natalia's including from the decadent treats to the delightful setting.

Couldn't agree more. So sad! I heard they're going to put in a smoothie place. Sigh.

I agree, I don't know why she closed completely. She had employees and her parents helping. Maybe she just was not bringing in the money that was worth keeping it open. Yes, it's sad. I love support small businesses.

My kids were crying when then learnt it. We usually stopped by for coffee and hot chocolate once a week.

She worked every day/evening/weekend except Monday and she seemed to be the primary baker/cook. Every time we went there it was busy. I don't think it would be possible to keep up at that pace unless she hired a full time nanny and a part-time nanny since she must have been working way more than 40 hours a week, unless her spouse has light hours. I don't think health codes would allow her to have her child back there ever. A lot of women cut back after having kids, but I think if she tried that it wouldn't be worth it financially given how expensive overhead is.

Her desserts were out this world! I will miss that bakery, but at least I got to experience it for a little while. Back to supporting chains . Boo!
