Left a pot roast in the slow cooker for 24 hours

Anonymous
Long story short, I forgot about it and pot roast was in slow cooker a full 24 hours. Is it still safe to eat or should I pitch it?

If the cooker was on, I don't see why it would be bad.

What was the temperature of the meat?

Was the slow cooker "on" the whole time, or did it cook for awhile (say 12 hours) and then sit on the "warm" setting for another 12 hours? If that is the case, definitely toss it. If it was cooking the whole 24 hours, while it might be safe, it might not be edible. Yes, you can overcook meat in a slow cooker.
