I was born 1n 1972, 100% Gen X and identify as such. My DH was born in 1963 and doesn’t identify as either. When we compare childhoods, teen years and college our experiences feel very different. |
I was born in 1974. My BFF was born in 1964, and she definitely is more genx than boomer. Occasionally something very boomeresque will come out of her mouth, and I'll give her shit. |
1960-64 is Generation Jones. |
Nobody who was alive when Eisenhower was president or entered college in the 1970s can claim Generation X status. 1960 is still full-fledged boomer. |
Decrees you, the queen of DCUM. ![]() |
You know many other countries don’t do this? |
1964 - definitely Gen X |
according to the youth today, we are all boomers
OK Boooomer |
1964, and I was definitely immersed in Boomer musical culture thanks to my older siblings, but the protesting, counterculture vibe wasn't part of it.
My agemates and I definitely have it better economically than Xers do. And they keep saying stuff like "I'm a lifelong Democrat, but" I apologize for them. |
My brothers were born in 64 and 65 and are not baby boomers - mostly because they were the beginning our parents legacy of 3 Gen X daughters. So their music, fashion, trends and childhood was all Gen X.
Our parents were Silent Generation so maybe that has some influence? |
+1. I think this is mostly true. My sibling was born in 63 and is absolutely Boomer like. |
The Silent Generation, to me, is the most inward, self absorbed, neglectful and selfish. Say what you will. |
PP with the sibling that is more Boomer - but Jones is far more accurate - thank you! |
Early 40s are millennials too… |
You are a boomer. |
