Actually, if you look at the FBI study posted above, the racial demographics come pretty close to matching the racial demographics of the US. Latinos might be under-represented but that in part might be because the study goes back a couple decades and that's a growing demographic. The majority are white because the majority of people in the United States over the past few decades are white. But, yes, the vast majority are male.

The area where this happened, however, is very progressive. Mostly UMC liberal families. Many parents who send their children to the local religious schools are not even religious- but Minneapolis public schools are not considered a good option. If you live there, you send your kids to private (usually religious private schools). These are not MAGA families- not at all.

There's really not a lot that houses of worship can do. People are crowded into large spaces that don't have a good place to run/hide, and they basically let anyone in. Jews post police outside synagogues...maybe that will be an increasing trend.
