I can think of several groups of people who might ask this question, but anyone who is around FCV knows it is not the incoming FCV coaches, as they already know—directly from the players’ words and actions—that none of the GA players are staying.

I would bet nobody knows for sure exactly who will stay or go. Everyone is fishing in different ponds but nobody wants to commit to anything until they see who else is committing there.
Spring is always this way and this year it’s much crazier than usual.

This doesn’t ring true to me. First, given the massive upheaval at FCV, why would the 2011 GA players consider staying there regardless of who their particular new coach is? Second, once they decided that they didn’t want to stay with FCV (whether because of the coach or other reasons), why would they immediately sign up with VRSC and not also explore other options at the ECNL clubs or SYC? I’m not saying what you said isn’t true, just that I’m skeptical. Please elaborate.

What I’m hearing is that the players are very upset at the capitalistic mindset of VRSC. My u13 DD has mentioned how Friedman was wrong about capitalism and that VRSC was too Machiavellian for her tastes and will stay at FCV despite their private equity ownership as TSJ is willing to lean socialist with a 3% 401k matching policy. Others on her team agree that a free markets theory for youth soccer is terribly flawed and will stay at fcv.

My DD is on the team and when we heard the announcement for the coach, we knew we weren't staying. He's an idiot.
