She works very hard at projecting decorum which is a strength. However her story of dating and falling in love with William feels very fake. When they were in their 20’s he basically disrespected her and treated her like shit. She stayed and married him anyways. There was a brief lag where he seemed to improve then he was back to cheating and treating her like shit. She stays because she cares about her social standing above all else. That’s not aspirational.

She’s also been in this public persona role for over a decade and still can’t figure out how to give a speech. That’s incompetent.

She makes public missteps all the time. I can’t get the image of her laughing at the gospel choir at Meghan and Harry’s wedding out of my head. She’s too old to be so stupid. Did she really think she wouldn’t be photographed at a royal wedding?

It’s also sad that one of the most positive things that can be said about her is that she’ll put up with anything William does to cling to her title. In that sense she adds stability to the monarchy but is otherwise a terrible role model. She’s ineffective at her job and can’t promote her chosen patronage.

I guess the only fully positive thing that can be said about her is that she loves her children.
\

I'm sure she's devestated that your opinion of her has fallen.

The same people slamming her for not being "relatable" also look at her relatable moments like laughing inappropriately at a wedding or funeral, because who hasn't been there, and call her stupid. Make up your mind. Should she be human or an emotionless robot?

Laughing at a wedding is not a relatable moment. I’m not a Royal and I’ve never done that.

Kate has plenty of time where she has complete privacy to say or do whatever inappropriate stuff she wants behind closed doors. I think it’s bizarre that she chose the most photographed event of the year to drop the decorum.

I called her incompetent at her job because she’s had over a decade of practice and still stumbles through public appearances. It took less time for King George to overcome his stutter.

At this point, it’s just sad.

You have never ever laughed at a wedding? You’re full of it or wound awfully tight. Feel sorry for you.

Nope, I’ve never mocked the service at a wedding. And I never considered it difficult to not be so crass.

How do you know she was mocking? It was a long day. Impossible to stay in character all day. You’re no saint so stop pretending you’re perfect as if anyone would believe you hiding behind your keyboard.

Kate was three weeks post partum after a difficult pregnancy and had two young children in the wedding. Quite a bit of stress.

Other folks manage decency in similar situations.

There is no similar situation to being the wife of the heir at a royal wedding.

Her “situation” makes it even worse that she couldn’t manage decency. It’s her only job.

Well that's your opinion. This happened years ago. Nobody else seems to notice or care and her popularity has soared.

Yes, we are all sharing our opinions about her. The difference is that you are taking the negative opinions personally, which is weird as hell.

I do believe that she loves her children. She definitely views her marriage as a job.

I agree but I think she does that because she genuinely loves England and believes in the mission of the crown.

I don’t think so. She’s a trophy wife and William was the goal. Every so often the facade drops and she can’t help but slap his hand when he tries to touch her. It’s exactly like Milania with Donald Trump.

Are you kidding? Did Kate pose nude? Melania borders on being a prostitute.

Well Kate went topless, do I guess she was halfway there…

Hung up? If I’m hung up, so are you. It’s just a discussion. We’re both here.

Someone is defensive as hell about any criticism of Kate. You claim it’s not you. That’s fine. I don’t care that people think she’s wonderful. I just question why some others respond so defensively. I’m not the only one who finds it bizarre.

I think she is ambitious and accomplished through her own personality. Would she have married just any Joe Schmoe? No of course not - if not William she would’ve married someone ambitious and accomplished too. As Princess, she has to perform but in any career she chose she probably would’ve been well-groomed and PR ready anyway.

Personally, I think it’s interesting how she’s evolved and how she’s handled her role. Also, as I get older I see more clearly how precarious her position truly is and I lose patience for missteps. Maybe that’s where the criticism comes in? Saying she’s the most popular royal kind of proves the point that the monarchy is not doing well.

I'm with you here. This invested PP obviously feels otherwise, but she's had basically 20 years of training for this role and she's...ok? Fine? Not great, that's for sure. Her greatest asset seems to be that she knows how to sit down and shut up. Maybe that's what people want (I'm not sure that it is), but she doesn't really "own" her role or develop it in any way. She's kind of a throwback and I think it remains to be seen how this is perceived as the old monarchists die out.

I’m not sure how exactly we are judging her as a good mother? Her photo ops with her children? These children are raised by nannies.

This. I very much get the sense that if she could take her money and prestige and quit any type of work the role requires of her, we would never see her again. She definitely would not be involved in any of these charitable efforts she can barely feign interest in. She comes across as completely dispassionate to pretty much anything outside of her own family and she's not great at pretending otherwise.

Agree with everything you say. Just as most people would quit their jobs if they won the lottery, Kate would 100% quit her royal duties if she could. It is truly a job and burden for her, not a passion.

And that’s okay. She is not the most brilliant person, she is just trying to fulfill her duties.

Who puts out the stories like this? “Prince William & Kate Middleton Are Reportedly Feuding Over This Major Decision About Prince George’s Future”

It makes Kate look good but Will look bad, and the word “feuding” is not one I would use to describe an argument in a happy marriage. Is it her PR gone rogue? Or some enemy?
