Apple Watch for 6th grader

My DD has a watch, and now there is one weird reason I wish she had a phone -- Covid health apps! For both school and an EC, she needs to do one of those health surveys every day to get the "green check" or QR code to enter. Because she doesn't have a phone, I have to do it on mine and walk her to the door, or print out the thing so she can show the printout (a pain to do everyday!). Otherwise I'd just drop her off.

Not a big reason to go phone, but something to think about. If your kid goes places that requires this or will require a vaccine passport once the vaccine is available for this age, having a phone is useful.

I like how you think you got me figured out from posting advice to other parents about what device to buy their kids. Of course you have to do the mandatory eye roll. You’ve got most of them wrong, and your post comes off as abrasive. Well, I guess it comes in a package with a anonymous posting.
