What are you buying for fall?

Anonymous
I just bought a bunch of stuff on a whim from the J Crew sale. I haven't bought anything there in ages but was getting my DH a pair of corduroys and the discount was really good so threw a bunch of things in the bag for me, too. Pair of corduroys for me, several t-shirts, and another sweatshirt (I bought a couple just the other day).

The pandemic has really gotten me into focusing on basics in flattering colors and worrying way less about trends or investing in "special" pieces that stand out. Right now I'm only buying things in three very specific colors -- silver gray, olive green, and lavender pink. It's really restrictive in a good way -- I've barely bought anything in the last year but everything I've bought goes together and looks good on me. I'm really digging these soft, muted colors. It works for warm weather and cold weather makes me feel peaceful.

Corduroys, silver, olive green, lavender pink? I’m sorry, but that does not sound flattering at all. And I’m no fashionista myself.

-lululemon align leggings… giving them a try
-camel colored top handle crossbody from Polene
-nude cropped camis to wear in lieu of bras (I’m petite/flat chested)
-thinking about a pair of boots… maybe Thursdays brand? Any fans? I’m thinking a Chelsea style with a bit of a heel.

Also looking at the Thursday Chelsea boots, either Duchess or Dreamer. Can’t decide on the color, though.

I just checked the website and I like the look of the Dreamer a lot. I wonder how comfortable they are. I am liking the pink ones, of all things - but they'd probably get filthy in no time flat.

Those are cute! I’m looking at the non-bootie Dreamers with the slightly lower heel, maybe in Black Coffee. I know Thursday also makes lug sole boots but I’m 40 and not sure I can pull them off

I’m the original Thursday Chelsea Pp. I m not reading reviews that they really are not comfortable to walk around in all day. I need an all day city walking boot.

It's basically this color palette and it's nice, plus that orchid purply-pink color is extremely on trend, as is olive:

Just bought a pair of no. 6 mid heel clogs and doc marten Chelsea boots without the yellow stitching. As the weather cools and Birkenstocks go back in the closet, I think both should go well with the looser cut Levi’s (dad jeans) and jumpsuits I have been enjoying.

I bought a couple of short sleeve basic tops from Loft in fall colors (goldenrod and rust) - scratched my itch for something new, can wear now but also easy to throw on a neutral cardigan in cooler temps. And, of course, super cheap.

Ann Taylor has a color story in teal that I'm eyeballing, but their inventory is so wonky who knows if there will be anything available. I haven't shopped Ann Taylor in years but they've improved it seems like.

I also need some looser jeans and just planning to hit up Old Navy - I was't focused and think I missed some of the crazy sales.

So - basically - still shopping sales, not buying much, and don't need anything due to working from him.

Not so heavy as it's just a no-frills tote, and the strap is seamless, so it supports well on your shoulder. It is big though, so if you put more stuff in it, it will get heavier

I got the larger tote bag, and once I tried it out for a few days, I purchased the laptop insert. The small bag insert and shoulder strap are not necessary for me. I purchased it in the light stone color. It's scrumptious.

A trendy puffer vest in dusty pink.
Also looking for a great quality long black masculine coat. And combat boots, one pair in black and another in vanilla.

I bought a pair of clogs. I plan to wear them with socks. They’re really comfortable, I don’t care that they’re ugly.

NP, what is wrong with being “on trend”. Grow up PP, this isn’t a middle school cafeteria. If you’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say it.

Winter coat in winter white
A new reversible puffer vest, that is sort of a uniform for me in Fall and Winter
Sorel Chelsea boots

Washable but professional dresses that look good for work (from home)

I am looking at:
(1) New tall boots? I think Frye lasted just 3 seasons, wore them tons. No more Sam Torrey so I cannot resole them plus zipper broke. Where would you look for tall boots?

(2) Jeans? I am am early millennial and can't wrap my head around the baggy jeans trend so not sure what else to buy if anything.

(3) Nicer pants other than jeans? Not leggings, but stretchy slim pants nice enough to wear to an office, or that look nice with ankle boots or tall boots on weekends. My favorite pair is LL Bean. Where would you look? Any colors besides black? I am not a fan of the oxblood color.
