My kid is taking AP physics and calculus and history and English, and I assume he will get 5s, as he has in other APs and as his siblings did. And those siblings' classmates. I assume you will now say that any kid old enough to take APs isn't suffering under the content-free regime of APS ES as it exists today, and you'd be right. But maybe your kids aren't doing well on their APs because you push them beyond their limits. Or, you know, they're just stupid. I don't really have enough information to be sure. Sorry, honey, my kids aren’t in HS yet. We are looking at private schools for MS and HS because APS is so bad. We are learning that almost all too privates have stopped offering AP courses, as they don’t want the College Board to dictate what curriculum they have to teach. These privates are able to provide a MUCH better learning experience, and the students can still take the AP exams — the majority getting 5s. But please, tell us how wonderful APS is. These overcrowded schools are garbage. They are just now realizing that teaching phonics might be helpful. |

I think we're all glad those kids are going to school elsewhere. Before you head off to tour privates, could you please explain whether APs do or do not have value? Your comments aren't consistent, which -- make a note of this -- suggest you aren't in a good position to judge anyone's critical thinking. |
I’m not PP. The above comment was my first in this thread. |
