I grew up in abject poverty. Trust me, no part of McLean would qualify as 'very ramshackle'. Try again.

As for the wealth...most of the places in Fairfax county have wealth and there is no shortage of multimillion dollar homes in the area. Also most of its residents are elderly or empty nesters. I recall us being one of the few families with kids our age in our neighborhood.

HAHAHAHA pretty sure I know who is in charge of the Wiki page - which makes it even more funny!

It’s not like you get to decide. McLean is “prestigious,” whether you like it or not (for example, members of Congress, including the former Speaker of the House, the former VP, and the former Secretary of State live there, well-known journalists live there, the past and future Governor of Virginia lives there, many pro athletes live there). Sorry if it bothers you so much but that’s your problem.

Minor correction: The past Governor lives in McLean; the future Governor lives in Great Falls.

We must be reading different polls, lol. Guess we’ll see.

McLean is a nice place. It's central. Easy to get to DC. Easy to get to Tyson's. You have everything you need right around you as far as shopping, sports, salons, doctors, etc. Traffic around town is manageable and there's parking for everything.

Schools are good and plenty of private options if you want them.

NoVa is what it is - historically a rural > exurb > suburb > and now "close in" in some areas. With the Dulles corridor exploding McLean/Tysons/Vienna are well-situated.

Jackie’s stepdad did. RFK had hickory hill & jfk stayed there for a short period of time

I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but there are VIPs throughout the area. Plenty in Alexandria and Bethesda, and even more inside the district.

Yes, thats what I mean. So many rich and important people all over the area. At least in the Mclean, Vienna, Oakton area. And so many more IN dc proper. I am confused why McLean has a certain cache.

McLean has the VIPs and the most expensive suburban homes in the DC area along with Chevy Chase. Hate to break that to you.

In any case, you tip your hand by suggesting only one place in the region can be “prestigious.” You must spend a lot of time looking over your shoulder.
