Kids sharing a birthday week, how is it?

Anonymous
We had trouble TTC with DC1. We never thought I would get pregnant the first month we tried for DC2, but I did. Kids are 2 years apart minus 2 weeks. DC2’s due date was actually on DC1 b-day, but they arrived early.

My kids LOVE sharing a birth month. The whole month is exciting for them. They are the same gender with lots of friends with siblings the same ages as them so we’ve only has joint b-day parties so far. We make their actual birthdays all about them though. They pick the dinner, get the big presents etc. non-birthday child gets to open one of their smaller presents on the others b-day. We mostly do individual presents, but the shared month also means big things like a Nintendo Switch are a joint gift.

My whole family except for me has a birthday within 10 days. It’s a lot of cake and a lot of work for me (mom) but otherwise fine.

OP,

Children arrive when they arrive, and there's nothing you can do about it, apart from a scheduled C-section.

DC1 was supposed to arrive in June and arrived in April (!!!).
DC2 was supposed to arrive in May and arrived in April.

Their birthdays ended up being 2 weeks apart, which is totally fine, because usually we have a small family celebration on each day, and then parties that can be pretty far removed from the actual birth date!

This is her third baby. I think she understands this.
