| Can anyone link to the new travel policy? |

| If there’s essentially no quarantine, why bother testing? |
Because osse considers lunch a spread event. |
| On the other hand, the travel quarantine is very strict. 7 days for any travel outside dmv regardless if test negative. |
Well that’s new and effs up peoples plans to come back 3 days before school and test. Which suggests it won’t be followed. |
Ah but OSSE’s most recent guidance doesn’t have the 7 day thing: https://osse.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/osse/page_content/attachments/FINAL_OSSE_Health_and_Safety%20Guidance_for_Schools-COVID-19_Recovery_Period.pdf |
Am I missing something or does it just say it’s “recommended” (so not required) that unvaccinated people quarantine for 7 days after domestic travel? |
Probably there are differences between what’s required by school (OSSE) versus what’s recommended for everyone (DC DOH). I’m going with OSSE for this reason. But yeah the messaging is mangled, per usual for DOH and OSSE. |

Will I be informed if a contagious child sat in the same room as my child but on opposite ends of the room for six hours for a day or more?
If the school is informed, will I be? Will they only inform the kids sitting within 6ft? Because my own post-graduate scientific background tells me that the most infectious virus in medical history does not care about single digit feet indoor distances and I am about to scream. |
The most infectious virus in medical history??? |
Well, for child care centers, OSSE is referring them to DC Health: As of July 25, 2021, the public health emergency has expired in the District of Columbia. Per Mayor’s Order 2021-097, Resumption of Mask Requirements and Delegations of Authority to the Department of Health and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, Section IV.3 (July 29, 2021), child development facilities must continue to follow the required protocols outlined in the DC Health guidance and any health and safety guidance from OSSE. |
But osse doc is from June…I can’t imagine they really think anyone is quarantining for 7 days after going to neighboring states outside of dmv. |
Are you related fields? Because only the one and only RF is bold enough to make such a preposterously wrong statement about infectiousness. |
|
Here it is again. Confirmation. The exemption to the close contact rule (wearing masks…no class quarantine) ONLY APPLIES INSIDE THE CLASSROOM. This DOES NOT apply when students are in the cafeteria.
