| not in a bad way. I have a classic car, used to work for a car magazine and DH/DS are both mechanics. We'd probably have much to talk about! |
|
Do you care what others think? If so, why?
|
|
I would give you an envious thumbs up at the next stoplight. If we were in my Chevy Chase neighborhood full of rule-following class presidents, I’d jump out at the light and hug you gratefully with tears in my eyes

| We used to go to dressage shows in a muscle car that was pulling a little European horse trailer and we were total badasses. You will be, too! |
|
If I noticed, I certainly wouldn't judge you for it.
I might wonder if you were thinking a lot about what other people were thinking about you. It's that kind of car, but nothing terrible about that. |
DP, yes, I care what others think, to some limited extent, but not zero. Why? Because I'm human and being human means I am a social animal. |
+100 about anyone, man or woman -50-something |
| I'm assuming you did the restoration yourself, and you should be proud! |
This. |
| Judged in a positive way. |
| NP, been dreaming of a 69 Impala when my Minivan dies |
I would judge you if you did this (racing). Talk about a huge sore ears for other drivers and pedestrians to get an ego boost I don’t otherwise care about what you drive. I would neither think you were lame nor a badass. I don’t think buying a muscle car makes you a badass. It’s not an accomplishment to buy a car, most people do it |
| Most lack modern safety equipment so some may….. re hauling kids. |
| If the kids were in it yes because of lack of modern safety standards. |
| I would think you're probably a fun person to be around. DS (8) would be jealous and want to know why I don't have one, and DH would probably be taking an analytical approach wondering how much it cost to restore, what the gas mileage is, etc. Not in a judging way, it just seems to be how his brain works |
