How early to arrive for domestic flights?

Dh likes to get there an hour early, and he's had some close calls. I do about 1 1/2 hours early when it's an off time, and I almost always have time to grab a coffee and fill my water bottle. If you're nervous or the kind of person who prefers to have some extra time, or it's a busier time of day, 2 hours.

+1 I always do 2 hours. Sometimes the airport check-in and/or security can get backed up for no apparent or obvious reason. I haven't flown since Covid but used to fly a few times a month pre-Covid. I always arrived 2 hours ahead of time and then just sat somewhere with my laptop and worked. It was no big deal to me because I would rather have a calm pre-flight rather than racing in and scrambling for an hour.
